Human Trafficking is a complex and oftentimes misunderstood crime that occurs across our country and in every community. This introductory presentation will provide an overview of sex and labor trafficking, and help participants understand how human trafficking impacts especially vulnerable populations and marginalized communities. This presentation will identify the facts and myths of human trafficking, provide ways to recognize potential victims and connect them with appropriate resources, develop a broader understanding of the barriers that exist when providing support to victims of human trafficking, and strengthen techniques in victim-engagement by incorporating trauma-informed practices.
