Thriving Youth: Survivors and Systems Coming Together to End Youth Trafficking
A working summit focused on creating a movement that is led by the voice of survivors in our community to transform Cuyahoga County into a place where all children are nurtured, safe, supported and flourishing.
Greater Cleveland’s Coordinated Response to Human Trafficking has identified at-risk-youth as a priority population for our coalition work. Through ongoing conversations with many of you, we know that youth who are experiencing or are at-risk for human trafficking will benefit from an expansion of our counties coordinated response. Through our collaborative work, we know that youth vulnerable to human trafficking are often difficult to identify. They are in survival mode, lacking necessities of life- such as a safe place to stay. Some have left homes disrupted by violence and addiction. Others faced family challenges related to their sexual orientation or gender identify. Many have aged out of the foster care system or have not gotten the help they needed.
