Human Trafficking and Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

We are teaming up with the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities to provide an engaging and insightful training on providing supportive and comprehensive services for individuals with disabilities who are at risk or currently experiencing human trafficking. Local expert, Katherine Antall, will: - Explore risk factors within the DD community that may lead to victimization and susceptibility to trafficking - Suggest promising practices and service responses that address underlying issues that can put individuals with disabilities at risk - Explain why sexual health education is key in sex trafficking prevention

Katherine Antall, MS Cleveland, Ohio

Katherine is the Human Sexuality Specialist at the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities in Cleveland, Ohio. She works to provide counseling, psychoeducation, and consultation for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), their families and support teams. Her areas of specialty are sexual health and sex trafficking prevention, advocacy, and survivor supports. Katherine is also a doctoral student of counseling psychology at Cleveland State University and focusing her training on supporting survivors of human trafficking with IDD.
