Join us for the third part of our Human Trafficking Awareness training series as we explore the critical intersection: “Intersectionality of Foster Care and Human Trafficking.” Led by Survivor Advisory Council Member Khalila Riga, and joined by Program Coordinator Jasmine Myers. This session will unravel the complexities faced by individuals who experience human trafficking before, during and after foster care. Together, we’ll delve into the unique vulnerabilities inherent in the foster care system, examining why youth in foster care may be less likely to disclose abuse, the barriers they encounter in accessing services and support, and how, as service providers, we can best advocate for and support these resilient individuals. Additionally, Maureen Draye with Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services will discuss barriers they face identifying youth with experiences of exploitation. Join us for an enriching discussion that aims to make a positive impact.
